A Message From Our Patron - Peta Seaton

Volunteering is part of our Australian identity. In eleven busy years as our local state MP, I was privileged to meet and work with so many local people who volunteer across the board – as carers, mentors, event helpers, in service clubs, emergency services, special projects, in our hospitals, sports clubs, the arts, and supporting the most needy and disadvantaged in our area. I admire them all, and know that we really can’t do without our wonderful volunteers.

I’m a volunteer too – and really enjoy the volunteer activities I’m involved in - with new friends and learning new skills.

Volunteers are very special people – as are the people they help. But volunteers will always tell you that they get as much, if not more, out of volunteering as the efforts they give. It’s fun, rewarding, challenging, and helps make our area an even better place to live for all of us.

That’s why I was delighted to accept the invitation from the dedicated Volwing Team to be Patron of Volunteering Wingecarribee.

Please consider joining in, and finding the opportunity that will best suit you and all you have to offer.

Some people feel shy about taking that first step, and some feel they don’t know what they can offer.

Don’t worry! The team at Volwing can help you find the best choice – and probably surprise you with some new ideas, too.

You’ll help make a huge difference in your chosen volunteer activity - and I’m sure will enrich your own experience, health and well-being in the process.

We look forward to welcoming you!

Yours sincerely,

Peta Seaton
